About Stefan
Since August 2007, Stefan Karl Serwe has been working as a lecturer at the Language and Communication Centre (LCC) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He teaches communication skills and coordinates the German language programme. He obtained his MA in English Philology, Spanish Philology and Sociology from Saarland University in Germany in 2004. During his university studies he collaborated in research projects for the Saarbrücken Corpus of Spoken English (SCoSE) at the Department of English Linguistics as a student researcher. After his move to Singapore in 2005, he gained practical experience teaching at a local secondary school. His research interests include conversation analysis, pragmatics, sociolinguistics and matters of multilingualism, with a particular interest in language alternation.
